VITA Tax Program
The Southland Development Authority
Free Tax Help for South Suburban Residents
SDA VITA Tax Program
The Southland Development Authority (SDA) is proud to offer the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, providing free tax preparation services to low- and moderate-income individuals and families in Harvey and surrounding South Suburban communities.
Through this program, residents can receive help preparing and filing their taxes accurately while ensuring they receive the full refunds and tax credits they qualify for, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC).
For many households, these credits represent some of the largest financial returns of the year. Our goal is to make sure community members do not miss out due to filing costs or lack of access to trusted tax support.
What the Program Provides
Free tax preparation and filing
Support from IRS-trained and certified tax preparers
Assistance claiming important tax credits like EITC and CTC
Secure and confidential tax services
Access to trusted community-based support
Access to financial education and resources
All services are provided at no cost to eligible households.
