With entrance into new markets and industries, our members’ operations will grow, strengthen, and provide a diversification of business for our members. These activities will include the development of partnerships with OEMs in new and upcoming products/markets (Clean Energy market, Agriculture, Automotive, food processing equipment, industrial automation industries, etc.).

Metals HUB American Made Supply Chain Solutions
With the current demand for OEMs to source their metal components locally, Metals HUB is making that task easier and faster. Metals HUB will facilitate these projects by assisting the OEM and Metals HUB members to provide innovative and timely solutions for all metal components and assemblies.

Work Force Development
Metals HUB Engineering Technology Internship/Mentoring Program
Metals HUB high school manufacturing internship/mentoring program will create a workforce pipeline that benefits employers, students, and our communities. An internship can provide our manufacturers the opportunity to discover talent, to bring in different skill sets, and provide training for candidates for future positions. This program will also allow our students the opportunity to gain experience with manufacturing processes and safety concepts, industrial work environments, and real work experiences. All these experiences will help them make more informed decisions about their possible career paths.

Stronger Together.

The Southern Suburbs of Chicago are rich with strong metals, machinery and equipment (MM&E) companies, large and small.

The Southland Development Authority, along with influential backers, is working to knit individual entities into a powerful metals collaborative—with the depth and scale to lead or support supply needs for any manufacturer, anywhere.

About the Hub.

We started our Hub feasibility study with two goals—to solve shared problems and create new revenue opportunities for metal, machinery and equipment companies in the Chicago Southland. The qualification process is identifying shared needs and gauging manufacturers’ interest in working together to succeed individually. If you are an executive with an MM&E company, we’re here to listen and work with you.
